The Brandenburger Tor on Pariser Platz underwent massive restauration about 4 years ago. About once a month, Deutsche Telekom, the German telecommunications company, hung a different facade placard from the scaffolding while work continued underneath. There was always some kind of trompe l'oeil effect.
